Thank You, Laurie Halse Anderson:
Virtual Authors Study ContinuesWe’re thanking Laurie Halse Anderson for two exceptional books: THANK YOU, SARAH, perfect for upper elementary and middle school, and CATALYST, a great read for older teens.
CATALYST, as you can guess from the title, is a novel with a science connection and THANK YOU, SARAH is a story about Sarah Hale who lobbied 5 presidents over 40 years to establish Thanksgiving as a national holiday.
John C. Wood, an English teacher at Clayton High School, will share his experience of teaching with THANK YOU, SARAH with sixth graders.
Our CATALYST discussion leader will be Lauren Nicholson, a founding member of the award-winning Eva Perry Regional Library’s Mock Printz Award Club (2009 winner of ALA’s Margaret A. Edwards Award for Best Teen Literature Program) who has grown up to become a librarian (Wake Forest Library).
